A businessman from Labasa is putting millions of dollars into the development of two hotels in the Northern division of Fiji. Vinesh Dayal, who runs The Lunchbox, Northpole Hotels Labasa, and Vualiku Hotel Nadi, announced plans to construct hotels in both Labasa and Savusavu.
“We have always wanted to establish a presence in Savusavu,” Dayal stated. He revealed that they have secured a 10-acre beachfront property in Savusavu and added, “In the next 24 months, you will see the first resort constructed by a local.”
Regarding the Labasa project, he mentioned that construction on the Vualiku Hotel at Jaycee’s Park is slated to begin soon. “The much-anticipated hotel project at Jaycee’s Park is a joint venture with the landowners,” he explained. This partnership with the landowners was established 14 years ago to help them get involved in mainstream business, and now it appears they are nearing realization of this goal.
Dayal emphasized that both projects are expected to generate job opportunities in addition to their economic advantages. “Lunchbox is now a household name that employs 100 workers across seven branches. Our new hotel in Nadi, Vualiku Hotel, employs 40 people, and Labasa Northpole employs 30,” he noted.
He expressed strong confidence in the economy, which motivates him to invest heavily in his business.
