Kitione Baleloa, the impressive golden glove winner from the Futsal IDC, has been included in Labasa’s squad for the Pacific Community Cup. The talented goalkeeper from Tailevu Naitasiri, who is currently a member of the Futsal champions Suva, will join the team as a guest player, stepping in to support veteran goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.
Coach Ravneel Pratap explained that Baleloa was brought in due to the unavailability of other goalkeepers for the tournament. “Jitoko Vulava has work commitments and is away attending a training course with the Fiji Police Force, while Joji Vuakaca is injured and will not be available for the Pacific Cup,” he noted.
Coach Pratap is optimistic about Baleloa’s addition to the team, stating, “Kitione is in good shape and has agreed to join us. We are happy to have him on board.” Additionally, two other players, Asaeli Tunidau and Sakiusa Saqiri from Tailevu Naitasiri, have also joined Labasa for the Pacific Cup.
Labasa will kick off their campaign against the USA All Stars at 4:30 PM today, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting match.
This move highlights the resilience and adaptability of the Labasa team as they navigate player challenges, showcasing their commitment to competition and teamwork. Fans can look forward to an exhilarating performance as the squad aims for success in the tournament.
