Krishna Sparks Odisha FC’s Triumph Over East Bengal in ISL Showdown

Fijian captain Roy Krishna scored as Odisha FC secured a 2-1 victory over East Bengal FC at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar last night, marking their second win in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. Krishna and Mourtada Fall each scored a goal across two halves, while East Bengal’s Dimitrios Diamantakos managed to convert a penalty in added time of the first half.

This defeat marks East Bengal FC’s sixth consecutive loss this season, and their second in a row under new head coach Oscar Bruzon. The scoring opened in the 22nd minute when Krishna netted his fourth goal against East Bengal in the league. Youngster Isak Vanlalruatfela found space on the left and sent a precise pass to Krishna, who easily navigated past the visiting defense. He collected the ball, advanced forward, and skillfully finished past East Bengal goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, placing the ball in the bottom right corner.

Odisha FC’s next match is against Mumbai City FC on October 27, while East Bengal FC will face Mohammedan SC in the Kolkata Derby on November 9.
