Krishna Shines as Odisha FC Defeats East Bengal in ISL Showdown

Fijian Captain Roy Krishna scored as Odisha FC achieved a 2-1 victory over East Bengal FC at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, marking their second win of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. Krishna and Mourtada Fall each netted a goal, countering a penalty strike from East Bengal FC’s Dimitrios Diamantakos, which occurred in added time of the first half.

The defeat for East Bengal FC marked their sixth consecutive loss this season, and their second under new head coach Oscar Bruzon. Krishna set the tone for the match by scoring in the 22nd minute, marking his fourth goal against East Bengal FC in the league.

Young talent Isak Vanlalruatfela, finding space on the left flank, delivered a well-timed through ball to Krishna. The striker skillfully evaded the visitors’ defense, collected the ball effortlessly, and successfully executed a 1v1 opportunity against East Bengal FC goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, slotting the ball into the bottom right corner.

Odisha FC is scheduled to face Mumbai City FC on October 27, while East Bengal FC will return to compete in the Kolkata Derby against Mohammedan SC on November 9.
