KPMG Unveils New AI Hub in Fiji: A Digital Revolution in the Making!

KPMG Enterprise has inaugurated a new technology-oriented office in Garden City, Suva. This office will serve as part of KPMG Enterprise’s Fiji Dynamix (FDX) network, which is a team dedicated to supporting KPMG’s Australian firm and its clientele. Additionally, the Connected Technology Group (CTG) will be based in this location, focusing on enhancing digital innovation and AI capabilities for KPMG’s clients.

During the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica remarked that the KPMG AI Build Hub is more than just an infrastructural investment. He stated that it reflects KPMG’s dedication to adopting new and emerging technologies while serving as a bridge for their clients. Kamikamica also highlighted the potential of local talent and the important role that firms like KPMG play in promoting innovation.

This is KPMG’s second office launch in the past year, following the opening of KPMG’s Star One office in Nadi in 2023. National managing partner of KPMG Enterprise, Naomi Mitchell, noted the rapid expansion of their South Pacific Practice, mentioning that the new office will help meet the increasing demand for digital development and AI support from the broader KPMG network.

John Munnelly, chief digital officer at KPMG Australia, explained that the new office is part of a substantial investment aimed at addressing the rising demand for digital and AI solutions, including support for the AI Build Hub. He emphasized that this strategic decision allows them to harness the skills of their brightest local talent, working in a newly established AI sector to provide solutions for the firm.

KPMG Fiji managing partner Lisa Apted shared that the new office has the capacity for 40 staff members with expertise in areas such as software development, engineering, and AI technical services. She expressed delight in being able to accommodate their expanding FDX and CTG teams in state-of-the-art facilities situated conveniently near the central business district, complementing the existing office in Suva Central.
