Fiji-born Wallabies winger Marika Koroibete has recently joined Oceania Sports Management, a newly established agency dedicated to promoting the welfare of rugby union players both during their careers and beyond. Koroibete announced this exciting new chapter on his social media platforms, sharing his enthusiasm for the agency’s mission.
“I have joined Oceania Sports Management because they focus on player welfare and development, both on and off the field. I look forward to giving back to emerging players, especially those from Fiji and the Pacific Islands, when my career comes to an end,” Koroibete expressed.
In this new venture, Koroibete is collaborating with Terry Linford, an Australian professional with extensive experience in risk and compliance and a strong connection to rugby union in Fiji.
This shift represents a significant step in Koroibete’s career as he commits to supporting the next generation of rugby talents, ensuring they have the guidance and resources they need to succeed. It’s a hopeful reminder of the importance of mentorship and community within sports, highlighting how established players can make a meaningful impact on future athletes.
As player welfare continues to gain recognition in sports, Koroibete’s initiative may inspire others in the rugby union community to also engage in similar efforts, fostering a more supportive environment for all players.
