The Koroi family is celebrating a significant milestone as their eldest son, Tevita Tucaketale Koroi, received the prestigious Dux award for Queen Victoria School in 2024. This recognition serves as a heartfelt tribute to his parents, who have devoted themselves to nurturing his education and guiding him towards success.

Eighteen-year-old Tevita expressed deep gratitude towards his parents, acknowledging their sacrifices as a source of inspiration for his diligent efforts. “Mom and dad are my inspiration; they’ve sacrificed a lot for me, and that’s why I work so hard,” he stated. He mentioned his spiritual practice, fasting daily in pursuit of this achievement, which he believes has finally paid off.

Tevita, who hails from Raviravi, Matuku Lau, and has maternal ties to Nakasaleka, Kadavu, is the oldest of six siblings. His educational journey included three years at Natabua High School in Lautoka before he joined Queen Victoria School. Reflecting on his experience, he noted that while there were challenges during his year at QVS, he is grateful for the accomplishments he achieved.

His mother, Ravi Drodro Koroi, was overcome with emotion upon witnessing her son’s achievements and expressed her thankfulness to God for guiding Tevita on this path. “We are a family that moves together; having our son at QVS was challenging, especially for me, but we thank God for the incredible results that came from this decision,” Ms. Koroi shared.

Tevita’s journey emphasizes the importance of effective time management, prioritizing wisely, and maintaining spiritual dedication, which he believes are crucial elements for achieving success.

This story serves as a reminder of the power of family support and determination. Tevita’s achievements reflect not only his hard work but also the commitment of his family, inspiring others to pursue their goals with perseverance and faith.
