The Koroi family is poised to make lasting memories in 2024, following the impressive achievement of their eldest son, Tevita Tucaketale Koroi, who secured the prestigious Queen Victoria School Dux award on Friday.
For 18-year-old Tevita, this accolade serves as a heartfelt tribute to his parents, whose unwavering support and sacrifices have played a crucial role in his academic journey. “Mom and dad are my inspiration; they’ve poured their heart and soul into ensuring that I succeed,” he expressed. He also shared his spiritual commitment, stating, “I’ve been fasting for this achievement daily, and it has finally paid off.”
Hailing from Raviravi, Matuku Lau, and with maternal connections to Nakasaleka, Kadavu, Tevita is the eldest among six siblings. His academic journey began at Natabua High School in Lautoka before he transferred to Queen Victoria School (QVS). Reflecting on the past year, he acknowledged the challenges he faced but expressed gratitude for the accomplishments he attained.
Tevita’s mother, Ravi Drodro Koroi, was moved to tears as she praised the guidance that led her son on this path. “We are a family that moves together, so having our son come to QVS was quite challenging for us, especially for me. But we thank God that by putting him here, he has achieved remarkable milestones beyond our dreams,” she said.
The family is grateful for the success they have experienced, attributing it all to divine guidance. Tevita emphasizes the importance of time management, setting priorities, and faith, urging fellow students to embrace these principles as keys to success.
As we celebrate Tevita’s remarkable achievement, it serves as an inspiration for others, proving that with dedication, familial support, and faith, success can be within reach.
