The Koroi family is poised for an unforgettable 2024 as their eldest son, Tevita Tucaketale Koroi, was honored with the prestigious Dux award at Queen Victoria School on Friday. The 18-year-old expressed deep gratitude towards his parents for their unwavering support and dedication to his education and success.
“My parents are my inspiration; they have sacrificed so much for my siblings and me,” reflected Mr. Koroi. He shared that he had been earnestly praying for this moment, indicating that his efforts had finally paid off.
Hailing from Raviravi in Matuku Lau and with maternal ties to Nakasaleka in Kadavu, Mr. Koroi is the eldest of six siblings. He began his high school journey at Natabua High School in Lautoka before transferring to Queen Victoria School, where he faced various challenges. Despite these obstacles, he is proud of his accomplishments.
His mother, Ravi Drodro Koroi, expressed her overwhelming joy and gratitude to God for the remarkable journey and progress her son has made. “We are a family that moves together,” she remarked, acknowledging the challenging transition to QVS but celebrating the unexpected achievements that followed.
Mr. Koroi also emphasized the significance of balance in life, sharing that effective time management and prioritizing responsibilities are essential for success.
