Fiji’s Rugby Sevens head coach Osea Kolinisau has expressed his gratitude for having his contract renewed for an additional four years, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to Fijian rugby. Amid recent uncertainty and public speculation regarding his future, Kolinisau has reassured fans of his dedication to the sport.
“My heart has always been with Fiji; I want Fiji to excel in Sevens rugby. I just needed to discuss the arrangements with my wife,” he stated.
Kolinisau also reflected on valuable lessons from past Olympic experiences, highlighting the critical role of mental preparation and the intensity of play. “There are many lessons learned from the Olympics. It all comes down to mentality. A significant takeaway from the Olympics was understanding game intensity. By training at a level above the intensity of prior series, we elevate our performance, and that’s what we implemented at the Olympics,” Kolinisau noted.
