Fiji 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau expressed his gratitude upon the renewal of his contract for another four years, emphasizing his long-standing commitment to Fijian rugby. After a phase marked by uncertainty and public speculation regarding his future, Kolinisau clarified his dedication, stating, “My heart has always been with Fiji, I always wanted Fiji to dominate in 7s. I just had to go back to my family and discuss the arrangements with my wife.”

Kolinisau also shared insights from past Olympic experiences, stressing the significance of mental preparation and game intensity. “There are a lot of learnings from the Olympics. It all comes down to mentality, I’ve always said that. One major thing we saw for ourselves in the Olympics was the game intensity. When we train above the previous series game intensity, our game elevates, and that’s what we did at the Olympics,” he noted.
