Labasa lawyer Amhi Kohli has been officially appointed as a member of the Electoral Commission, a decision announced by the Constitutional Offices Commission on Friday. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the South Pacific and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Otago. His extensive legal career began with various positions in notable law firms, eventually leading to his partnership with Raman Pratap Singh from 1996 to 2019.

In addition to his legal accomplishments, Kohli has actively contributed to his community through leadership roles in organizations such as Labasa Soccer, the Labasa Golf Club, and the Rotary Club. His ongoing work as a trustee of the Festival of Friendly North Association highlights his commitment to community engagement, along with his previous role as chairman of the Labasa Hospital Board of Visitors, where he played a significant part in key hospital developments.
