Leon Kofana, defender for the Solomon Islands and Rewa, has received a diagnosis of a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury that will keep him out of action for about six weeks. The injury happened during an international match against Hong Kong, China, last Thursday. Initially, there were concerns that he might have suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, which could have sidelined him for at least six months. However, after further evaluations by the team’s medical staff, it has been confirmed that Kofana’s injury is less severe than first feared. Although he will miss the upcoming DFPL matches, the news brings some relief to the team, which is optimistic about his recovery and eventual return to the field.
