Kofana Injury Update: Six Weeks Out or Something More?

Leon Kofana, a defender for the Solomon Islands and Rewa, has been diagnosed with a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury that is expected to keep him out of action for around six weeks. The injury occurred during an international match against Hong Kong, China, last Thursday. Initially, there were concerns that Kofana might have suffered a more serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, which could have sidelined him for at least six months. However, recent evaluations by the team’s medical team have clarified his condition, confirming it as an MCL injury, which is significantly less severe. Although Kofana will not participate in the upcoming DFPL fixtures, the team remains optimistic about his quick recovery and eventual return to play.
