Kiti Temo, currently serving as the Official Secretary for the Office of the President, is expected to take on the role of Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This news comes following the advertisement of her position at the State House in local newspapers over the weekend.

Ms. Temo has been in her current role since the presidency of Jioji Konrote. The Official Secretary plays a crucial role in ensuring that the advice presented to the President adheres to Fiji’s Constitution, working closely with the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers. This position demands coordination with Permanent Secretaries to ensure the information relayed to the President is both accurate and constitutionally sound.

As the Head of Department, the Official Secretary is also responsible for the daily operations of the Office of the President to ensure its functions are conducted in accordance with legal standards.

The job listing outlined that candidates must showcase a commitment to public service values as defined in the Fijian Constitution, underscoring the importance of integrity and good character. To be eligible for this role, applicants must be Fijian citizens aged under 60.
