At 23 years old, Atiterentaai Rinimarawa proudly represents Kiribati in the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant. A recent graduate of the University of the South Pacific, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Tourism Management, Atiterentaai is now embarking on a journey devoted to serving her community.
Raised in a close-knit family on Kiritimati (Christmas Island), Atiterentaai embodies the values of love, kindness, patience, and humility. As the youngest in her family, she cultivated significant observational and listening skills, which have shaped her into a compassionate leader dedicated to making a meaningful impact.
Having experienced the challenges of living on a low-lying island nation, Atiterentaai is acutely aware of the climate crisis. Witnessing issues such as rising sea levels and coastal erosion has sparked her determination to advocate for climate change awareness and advocate for the preservation of Pacific environments and lifestyles.
In her leisure time, Atiterentaai immerses herself in cultural practices like dancing, singing, and weaving, which strengthen her connection to her heritage. She aspires to forge a career in community development, youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability.
As Miss Kiribati, Atiterentaai aims to motivate others to take small yet significant steps toward creating a brighter, kinder, and more resilient future for their communities and the planet. Her dedication and passion for advocacy position her as a beacon of hope and inspiration in today’s climate of change.
