An accident on Kings Road today has resulted in eleven individuals being hospitalized, including the driver in his 30s. Authorities report that the driver lost control of the mini bus, which then veered off the road, landing atop a parked car in the Vinod Patel car park before rolling onto its side.
All ten passengers, along with the driver, have sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, where investigations into the incident are ongoing.
This recent accident echoes previous incidents in the area, including a separate incident earlier this month where a four-wheel drive vehicle collided with a bus on Kings Road in Lautoka, injuring eighteen people. That event raised important discussions about road safety, emphasizing the ongoing need for awareness among drivers, particularly those operating public service vehicles.
Community members and traffic officials are advocating for stricter road safety measures. They remain hopeful that raising awareness about safe driving practices will contribute to better safety standards and ultimately reduce the number of accidents on the roads.
Giving attention to the care and recovery of those injured is crucial, and community support for these individuals could significantly aid their healing process. The commitment to improving road safety is vital in fostering a safer environment for all road users.
