Kikau Re-Signs with Bulldogs Through 2028, Keeps Perth Bears at Bay

Fiji Bati forward Viliame Kikau has confirmed his commitment to the Canterbury Bulldogs by extending his contract for an additional two seasons. Despite interest from the newly formed Perth Bears, Kikau opted to remain with the Bulldogs until the end of the 2028 season.

This decision is a significant boost for Bulldogs head coach Cameron Ciraldo, as the club seeks to end a 21-year premiership drought. Kikau, a dual premiership winner with Penrith, faced challenges in his first season with the Bulldogs due to injury, limiting him to just nine games. However, he emerged as a key player in subsequent seasons, helping the team reach the finals in both of the past two years.

While the Perth Bears showed ambition in trying to recruit the 30-year-old forward, discussions did not progress, and Kikau appears set to finish his NRL career wearing the blue and white of the Bulldogs. His decision strengthens the Bulldogs’ chances as they aim to reclaim their status as a top contender in the league.
