Kikau Re-Signs with Bulldogs Through 2028 Amid Rival Interest

Kikau Re-Signs with Bulldogs Through 2028 Amid Rival Interest

Fiji Bati forward Viliame Kikau has officially re-signed with the Canterbury Bulldogs for an additional two years, extending his commitment to the club until the end of 2028. This decision comes after considerable interest from the newly reformed Perth Bears, who were keen to have Kikau join their ranks.

Kikau, who was set to be a free agent at the conclusion of next season, has provided a significant boost to Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo, as the team looks to end a 21-year premiership drought. The dual premiership winner from his time at Penrith had a challenging first season with the Bulldogs in 2023, experiencing injuries that limited him to just nine games. Despite this setback, he has proven to be a vital component in the team’s recent qualifications for the finals series.

The Bears’ hopes to snag Kikau ultimately did not materialize, as discussions regarding a potential move faltered, allowing him to solidify his future in the blue and white. This re-signing not only reinforces the Bulldogs’ roster but also bodes well for the team’s ambitions in the coming seasons. With Kikau’s experience and talent, the Bulldogs will undoubtedly benefit as they strive for glory in the NRL.
