Kikau Marries in Fiji as Bulldogs Eye More NRL Success

Fiji Bati star and Bulldogs forward Viliame Kikau marked a significant personal milestone by marrying his long-time partner, Brittany, in a joyous ceremony in Nadi. The 30-year-old athlete celebrated this special day at the Crowne Plaza Nadi Bay Resort, surrounded by family and close friends.

Kikau’s journey within the NRL has seen him become a prominent player for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs since joining the team two years ago. He has made an impressive 54 appearances for the Bulldogs, scoring 12 tries. Prior to this, he had a successful tenure with the Penrith Panthers, where he played 123 matches and made 38 tries from 2016 onwards.

Recently, Kikau garnered recognition for his exceptional performance during the 2024 NRL season, receiving the Dr. George Peponis Medal as the Bulldogs’ Player of the Year. His consistent play was instrumental in leading the Bulldogs back to the finals after a six-year absence. Throughout the season, he participated in 22 matches, contributing four tries, four assists, 41 offloads, and ten breaks through defensive lines.

Head coach of Fiji Bati, Wise Kativerata, praised Kikau’s accomplishments, remarking on his capabilities both as a composed player and a fierce competitor when he has the ball in hand. As Kikau continues to excel in his professional career, fans remain hopeful for his continued success on and off the field.

Looking ahead, as Kikau embraces his new chapter in life, he remains a vital asset to the Bulldogs, with a lucrative four-year contract worth $3.2 million that began in 2023. The team recently celebrated Kikau’s 150-game milestone during a victory over the Dragons.

As the Pacific Nations Challenge approaches, Coach Kativerata is expected to announce a competitive squad, blending experienced players and new talents, which will aim to build on the momentum created by Kikau and his teammates.
