Wahid “King” Khan, a well-known boxer from Lautoka, achieved a significant victory on Saturday, May 3, 2014, by defeating Sailasa Moko from Nadi via TKO at the Naidiri Boxing Promotion event held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. This win marked a meaningful moment for Khan, as he had been anticipating this bout for 15 years due to a prior loss to Moko back in 1998.
Khan spoke about his long-awaited triumph, emphasizing that he had spent an entire year preparing for the fight. “I came here to settle a score and I am happy with the outcome,” Khan expressed. At 39 years old, Khan is eyeing one final fight against Johnny “The Machine Gun” Singh before hanging up his gloves, hoping to end his boxing career on a positive note by avenging an earlier defeat to Singh. He expressed his eagerness to take on the opportunity if it arises, stating, “My last mission before I retire is to avenge my loss to Johnny Singh.”
