Kerevi’s Tour Cut Short: Suspension Shocks Wallabies Fans

Samu Kerevi, the centre for the Wallabies, will miss the remainder of his Northern Tour after receiving a three-match suspension from World Rugby. This ruling comes in response to Kerevi’s dangerous tackle during Australia’s convincing 52-20 victory over Wales.

Following the incident, Kerevi faced an independent Disciplinary Committee via video link, where it was determined that he had committed an act of foul play, which resulted in a 20-minute red card. The committee was chaired by Brenda Heather-Latu and included former international referee Donal Courtney and former player Becky Essex.

This marks Kerevi’s return to the field following the 2023 Rugby World Cup, making the suspension more disappointing for the player and team alike.

Despite this setback, Kerevi’s presence on the field has always been significant, and his future contributions will undoubtedly be valuable once he completes his suspension. Fans can remain hopeful that this will be a learning experience for him, and he will continue to grow and improve as a player.
