Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro has emphasized the critical role of parents in actively monitoring and promoting their children’s education. He pointed out that while many parents diligently enroll their children at the beginning of the school year, some tend to relax their oversight after receiving the $200 Back-to-School Assistance. This can lead to irregular school attendance later on in the academic year.

Radrodro noted a concerning trend, where the Ministry observes higher enrollment figures at the academic year’s start compared to the number of students who eventually register for examinations. He urged parents to recognize that the primary goal of this grant is to ensure that all children remain in school throughout the year.

Additionally, Radrodro highlighted that many students are still seen attending school in worn-out uniforms, old school bags, and shoes. He called for greater transparency from parents regarding their children’s needs and circumstances, stressing that consistent support is essential for academic success.

This message aligns with the ongoing efforts to enhance educational outcomes in the country, reinforcing the idea that parental involvement is paramount for sustained student engagement and achievement.
