Fijian cruiserweight boxing champion Alivereti Kauyaca showcased his skills at the Fight Night IV event in New Zealand on Saturday, securing a victory against Kiwi fighter Remus Leaf by unanimous decision after four rounds. This matchup marked Kauyaca’s inaugural international fight as he gears up for a significant bout against New Zealand’s cruiserweight champion John Parker next month.
On his social media, the former Queen Victoria School student expressed gratitude to those who came out to support him. “God bless to my old boys and family who traveled from afar to provide the much-needed support. Your cheers amidst the loud Kiwi crowd resonated with me,” Kauyaca wrote. He also hinted at his upcoming fight, stating, “September 7. We are going to dance much better.”
Kauyaca, known as the ‘Hitman’ from Bukuya in Ba, will face Parker for the WBO Oceania cruiserweight title on September 7 in Hamilton. The 30-year-old fighter is currently signed with CTP Boxing Promotions and is based in New Zealand, training under manager and coach Farmaan Ali.
