Fiji’s Cruiserweight Boxing Champion, Alifereti Kauyaca, delivered a commendable performance but ultimately lost by points decision to New Zealand’s Cruiserweight Champion, John Parker, during the WBA Oceania Title fight. The bout took place at Globox Arena in Hamilton, New Zealand, on Saturday night, with Parker securing the victory.
Although many boxing enthusiasts felt that Kauyaca showcased superior skills throughout the match, he narrowly lost in the tenth round. John Parker, who is the sibling of famous Heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker, earned the title in a closely contested fight.
In a social media update, Kauyaca expressed his thanks to the Lord for his guidance during the match and acknowledged the support of his team. He also extended his congratulations to John Parker for his win. Despite the disappointing result, Kauyaca remains focused on returning even stronger in future competitions.
