Kamikamica’s Western Division Tour: Highlights and Insights Uncovered

Divisional Commissioner for the Western Division, Apolosi Lewaqai, met with Manoa Kamikamica, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperative, MSMEs & Communications, as part of his ongoing tour of the region.

During the meeting, the Commissioner’s office presented an overview of key economic activities in the western region, which include tourism, sugar production, non-sugar agriculture, mining, bottled water, international gateways, mini-hydro projects, and pine forestry.

The office also reported on significant achievements such as the completion of Rural Housing Assistance programs and community efforts to tackle pressing issues like drug abuse, urban migration, HIV/AIDS, and land disputes.

To enhance the coordination role of Divisional Commissioners, Lewaqai discussed the need for strengthening the Integrated Rural Development Framework (IRDF) with DPM Kamikamica.

As part of his tour, DPM Kamikamica is scheduled to visit various organizations including the Nadi Town Council, Fiji Airways, Mindpearl Fiji, Challenge Group of Companies Ltd, Michelly Investment Ltd, and Amex Resources (Fiji) Ltd.
