Kamikamica Set to Unveil Walesi Investigation Findings in Parliament Today

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communications Manoa Kamikamica is set to present his Ministerial Statement regarding the technical and financial investigation of Walesi PTE Limited in Parliament today.

In a conversation with FijiLive, Kamikamica noted that the report, conducted by the Office of the Auditor-General, will first be reviewed by Cabinet before being presented to Parliament. This report, which was made public last month, is a significant step in understanding the financial performance and operational effectiveness of the satellite digital television platform, Walesi.

Kamikamica mentioned that since 2015, a total of $125.6 million has been invested in the establishment and rollout of Walesi’s services. Depending on the findings of the investigation, the report may also be forwarded to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption for further examination.
