Last night, a man in Navua was apprehended by the Fiji Police Force on charges of possessing illegal drugs. The arrest followed a thorough search of the suspect’s residence conducted in conjunction with the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU), utilizing a search warrant to facilitate the investigation.

During the operation, K9 Herb, a specially trained drug detection dog, played an essential role in identifying specific areas within the house that required further inspection. The search led to the discovery of a total of 171 dried plants believed to be marijuana, which were concealed in various locations including under a mattress, within a bedroom wardrobe, and beneath a kitchen table. The suspect is currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.
