The Fiji Police Force reported that prompt action by a Police Dog Unit on patrol in Lautoka led to the arrest of a man suspected of theft yesterday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, stated that K9 officers conducting a patrol on Drasa Avenue encountered an incident involving a woman who had just had her mobile phone stolen.

The officers swiftly tracked down the suspect, a 25-year-old man, and successfully recovered the victim’s phone. Driu noted that the suspect, who has a history of offenses, is currently in custody at the Lautoka Police Station as investigations are ongoing.
