The Fiji Police Force announced that swift actions by a Police Dog Unit on patrol in Lautoka led to the arrest of a man suspected of theft on the previous day.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, reported that K9 officers, while on patrol along Drasa Avenue, encountered a woman who had just been victimized by theft; her mobile phone had been stolen.

ACP Driu stated that the officers promptly tracked the suspect, locating a 25-year-old man, and successfully recovered the victim’s mobile phone. The suspect, known to law enforcement, is currently in custody at the Lautoka Police Station as investigations proceed.
