Justis Huni Poised for World Title Shot After Wardley Win

Justis Huni is confident he is on the brink of becoming a world champion, especially after witnessing his recent opponent, Fabio Wardley, defeat former world champion Joseph Parker, which only bolstered Huni’s aspirations. Scheduled to return to the ring next month on an exciting undercard for Jai Opetaia’s IBF cruiserweight title defense, Huni aims to rise through the ranks with a victory in his rematch against New Zealand’s Kiki Leutele.

Huni’s last outing against Wardley ended in a painful 10th-round knockdown, a blow he described as a “one-in-a-thousand” shot. Prior to that, Huni had dominated the fight, leaving him encouraged by Wardley’s subsequent performance over Parker. “After my fight with Fabio, my stocks went up,” Huni noted, expressing satisfaction in Wardley’s recent success as it highlights his own talent on the global stage.

His agent Mick Francis is rallying support for Huni, urging boxing aficionados to recognize his potential, attributing his previous struggles with injuries and limited exposure to a lack of public recognition. With a new deal with Stan Sport, Huni (12-1, 7 KOs) is set to showcase his abilities widely when he faces Leutele on the Gold Coast on December 6.

“We haven’t seen the best of Justis Huni yet,” Francis emphasized, highlighting Huni’s unique fighting style as a heavyweight in Australia. “Justis Huni will win a world title.”

In addition to Huni, boxing fans will also see the return of super featherweight Paul “Showtime” Fleming, marking his first match in over two and a half years. He will take on Jake Wyllie, who previously gave George Kambosos Jr. a challenging bout that went the distance earlier this year. Fleming hopes to prove that he belongs at the top, aiming for a title shot that he feels he has deserved but never received thus far.

As Huni and Fleming prepare for their respective matches, the boxing community remains hopeful for their success, as both fighters are eager to make their marks and elevate their careers in the ring. With exciting opportunities ahead, fans are looking forward to a thrilling fight night.
