A businessman has been convicted of raping his stepdaughter over a span of six years. The verdict was delivered by Justice Siainiu Fa’alogo Bull at the Suva High Court, where the accused faced eight counts of rape, with one charge being dropped due to insufficient evidence.
The complainant, who moved from the UK to Fiji in 2008 with her mother and younger brother, began living with the accused in 2010. Prior to the continuation of the trial, the accused opted to plead guilty to the charges and consented to the summary of facts presented in court.
