One juvenile and three men accused of raping a 13-year-old girl have pleaded not guilty to the charges and will remain on bail. They appeared before Justice Pita Bulamainaivalu on Thursday to respond to charges filed by the Director of Public Prosecutions. The juvenile faces a single count of rape, while the three men are facing four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
DPP prosecutor Zenith Zunaid informed the court that two of the men and the juvenile made full admissions during a recorded caution interview, while the fourth accused acknowledged being at the scene but denied engaging in the crime. The four individuals are scheduled to appear again on November 24 for their initial pre-trial conference.
