Junior Kulas Set to Take on Tonga in Key Championship Opener

The head coach of Digicel Fiji Junior Kulas, Marika Rodu, has voiced his confidence in the team’s preparation for their opening match against Tonga in the forthcoming Oceania Football Confederation Under-16 Women’s Championship. As the final week of training approaches, Rodu is satisfied with the girls’ fitness levels and overall readiness for the tournament.

The team has been concentrating on sharpening their offensive and defensive strategies in anticipation of their match against Tonga, and they are eager to take on the challenge. Rodu recognizes that the opener against Tonga will be a tough contest, as first matches typically are.

“We are in the final stages of our preparation, and we’re trying to ease our approach. I believe the girls are in good shape and ready for their first game against Tonga,” Rodu stated. “We don’t expect the match to be an easy one since the opening game can be challenging, but the goal is to settle in quickly and get into the game.”

Rodu is hopeful about the Junior Kulas’ chances, showing determination to achieve victory and collect three points in their clash with Tonga. The OFC U16 Women’s Championship will begin tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, where Fiji will face Tonga at 3 PM. Teams are competing for spots in the FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup to be held in Morocco next year.
