The Digicel Junior Kulas have strengthened their lineup with the addition of three players from the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup held in Colombia. Goalkeeper Elena Vakaloloma, along with attacking midfielders Asenaca Maiso and Elesi Tabunase, joined the team for training at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.
The Junior Kulas, after drawing their opening match 3-3 against Tonga, are set to compete against the Cook Islands in an important OFC Under-16 Championship match today. Coach Marika Rodu is optimistic that the new arrivals will improve the team’s chances of victory.
“I can say that all three will start today, but we need to manage their stamina,” Rodu mentioned. He also emphasized the necessity of monitoring the fatigue levels of the trio.
“There is always the fatigue element. While they do elevate the team’s morale, we need to carefully manage their performance,” he added.
Fiji’s match against the Cook Islands is scheduled for 3 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium.
