Junior Koya’s Knockout Comeback: What’s Next for the Boxing Star?

After a two-year hiatus, Junior Koya made a successful return to the boxing ring, defeating Jone Tagimei by technical knockout. The match ended in the second round when Tagimei’s coach threw in the towel due to visible blood from his nose, along with Tagimei expressing that he could no longer continue.

In an interview, Koya shared that he had dedicated a month of hard training in preparation for this bout. “It feels incredible to be back in the ring and to win like this,” he stated. He expressed his excitement about the positive results of his training and skill development during his time away from boxing.

Koya attributed part of his fitness to farming, which he described as both a training method and a form of self-reflection. He emphasized the importance of identifying areas for improvement to ensure he performs well in future matches. “I’m looking forward to getting back into the ring and continuing to improve. There’s a lot more I want to achieve, and today was just the beginning,” he added.

In another bout, Shafir Maqbool secured a victory by default against Sakaria Talatu.
