Junior Bati Set for Showdown with Emus at Churchill Park, Lautoka

The Junior Bati rugby league team is gearing up for an anticipated showdown against the Southwest Queensland Emus, with the coach expressing high hopes for an exciting match. Coach Peni Baro noted that the 25-member squad has been diligently preparing for this encounter, marking their third game against an international opponent this year.

Baro highlighted the caliber of the Emus, who travel with a wealth of experience, as many of their players began their journey in rugby at the young age of 12. He remarked, “We are expecting a good game, especially for teams that come all the way from Australia. They are well prepared and have mastered the game over the years.”

The Coach emphasized the significance of such matches, stating that they have become a norm for many players in the Emus squad, contributing to their thorough preparations. He added that the Emus are not only representing their state but are also touring multiple venues, showcasing their commitment to the sport.

The Junior Bati, alongside their female counterparts, the Rise Rookies, will take on the respective Southwest Queensland Emus teams this Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka, with matches commencing at 11 a.m. This event promises to be not just a competitive fixture, but also a wonderful opportunity to promote rugby league and foster international sporting relations.
