Illustration of Hill Hopes to Continue Winning Streak

Jonathan Hill Aims for Knockout Victory Against Rupeni Rokoratu to Secure Title Fight

Jonathan Hill is aiming to extend his winning streak in his second professional bout against Labasa’s Rupeni Rokoratu next month in the South Pacific boxing promotion in Labasa.

“Preparation has been good and we’re always prepped, Winston (his younger brother) and I,” Hill remarked.

“My approach in this fight is to knock out Rokoratu so I can get my ranking higher.”

Hill is eyeing a title fight, contingent upon his victory over Rokoratu.

“This is the first time for me to fight him (Rokoratu), and it’s almost like amateur boxing where we just enter the ring and deal with it,” he explained.

“Winning this fight is motivated by my son.”

Hill noted that he has not studied his opponent, focusing instead on fine-tuning his own abilities and strength.

“It’s been beneficial to have my younger brother Winston in my preparation, and I believe it makes my opponent wary of me,” he added.

“It’ll also be my first time fighting in Labasa.”

Last year, Hill secured a win in his first professional fight in the super middleweight division against Donasio Macedru at the Lewis Hill boxing promotions held at Vodafone Arena, Suva.

“I’m working to improve my fitness for this fight with the goal of winning,” he said.

“I was unfit in my last fight, but I managed to get the job done.”

Hill believes he has gained valuable experience from his previous professional bout.

“I will be aiming for the super middleweight title of Fiji after this fight, and perhaps the light heavyweight title as well,” he stated.

“We’ll see whoever holds the title; I’ll be going after them.”
