A coordinated operation involving the Police Mobile Force, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Divisional Operations Team took place in Nadonumai today, leading to the arrest of three men for allegedly possessing illicit drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu reported that the task force executed two raids in the area, resulting in the seizure of substances believed to be marijuana, stolen goods, and equipment thought to be used for packaging drugs. The three arrested individuals are currently in custody at the Lami Police Station as investigators work to gather more information.
With the festive season approaching, ACP Driu emphasized the importance of disrupting criminal networks and increasing pressure on their operations through such raids. He also highlighted the critical role of community involvement in the fight against drugs, encouraging the public to report any suspicious activities to Crime Stoppers at 919.
This proactive approach by law enforcement showcases their commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring a peaceful holiday season. The community’s involvement is essential, and such measures can significantly contribute to reducing crime. It’s hopeful to see authorities taking decisive action against drug-related offenses, reinforcing the message that public vigilance and cooperation can make a substantial difference.
