A joint operation by police in Tacirua led to the discovery of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. The raid involved officers from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu reported that the operation took place at the residence of a 57-year-old suspect, resulting in the seizure of over 200 rolls of aluminum foil filled with dried leaves and more than a thousand small branches, thought to be marijuana.

ACP Driu underscored the significance of community assistance in providing crucial information to law enforcement. He commended the successful operation as a significant move in combating drug trafficking, highlighting the vital role of collaboration between the police and the community.
