The 2024 Salad Bowl Junee Netball Festival is scheduled for September 28 at Lawaqa Park, promising a day full of thrilling netball matches.
This one-day festival, organized by the Junee Netball Club in Australia, will showcase both experienced and emerging netball players from the Western Division. Judy Kumar, president of Salad Bowl Netball, confirmed that the event will exclusively feature teams from the Western region to support the development focus of the tournament. This approach will enable teams to prepare for the upcoming Western Rally.
In addition, invitations have been extended to teams from Namosi and Serua, allowing for a broader representation in the development-oriented event. Kumar emphasized that the tournament aims at grassroots development, specifying that national players will not participate.
The Junee Netball Club will administer the tournament, overseeing fixture creation and event management. The competition will include three main categories: the open grade with 16 teams, the U15 grade featuring 12 teams, and a men’s grade with eight teams.
Teams expected to participate include Salad Bowl Netball, Ba, Tavua, Coastal Magic, and Rising Stars in the open and U15 grades. In the men’s grade, participants include Salad Bowl 1, Ba, Nadi, Tavua, Namosi, Baravi, and Salad Bowl 2.
Sponsors for the event include Salad Bowl Travel Tours, Naviti Resort, and Down to One, with additional sponsors anticipated to be revealed by September 15.
