John Wesley College celebrated a successful performance in the secondary schools touch rugby tournament, clinching victories in both the under-16 and under-18 categories. The event, organized by Touch Federation Fiji, took place over two days at Albert Park, coinciding with the Hibiscus Festival.

In the under-18 final, John Wesley triumphed over Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College with a score of 5-3. Earlier, they secured their spot in the final by defeating Queen Victoria School 3-1 in the semifinal after overcoming Suva Grammar School 6-3 in the last pool game. Despite an earlier loss to MGM (5-4), John Wesley bounced back to take the championship.

In the under-16 category, John Wesley’s team also showed impressive skill, defeating Queen Victoria School 3-2 in the final. They advanced to the quarter-finals following pool victories against QVS (4-3), Marist Brothers High School (4-3), and Lami High School (4-0). In the semi-finals, they overcame Marist Brothers again, winning 3-1, which led them to the final against QVS.

Queen Victoria School reached the under-16 final after a narrow win over Lami High School, ending the contest at 3-2.
