John Wesley College triumphed in both the under-16 and under-18 categories of the secondary schools touch rugby tournament, held by Touch Federation Fiji during the Hibiscus Festival.

The two-day event took place at Albert Park, commencing on Monday. In the under-18 final, John Wesley defeated Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College with a score of 5-3. The under-16 team also claimed victory, edging out Queen Victoria School 3-2.

In the under-16 division, John Wesley progressed through the pool stage after narrowly beating Queen Victoria School 4-3 and Marist Brothers High School 4-3, before overcoming Lami High School 4-0 in the quarter-finals. They continued their strong performance with a 6-2 victory over Suva Grammar School in the semi-finals, then defeated Marist 3-1 to secure their spot in the final, where they again met Queen Victoria School and won 3-1.

In the under-18 grade, John Wesley began their campaign by beating Queen Victoria School 3-1 but faced a setback against Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College, losing 5-4. Resilient, they bounced back with a win over Suva Grammar School 6-3 in their final pool match. In the semi-finals, John Wesley dominated Queen Victoria School with a 7-2 victory. In the final, they faced Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College again and secured a 5-3 win, claiming the under-18 championship.
