John Wesley College triumphed in both the under-16 and under-18 categories of the secondary schools touch rugby tournament, organized by Touch Federation Fiji as part of the Hibiscus Festival.

The two-day event took place at Albert Park starting from Monday. In the under-18 final, John Wesley managed to secure a 5-3 victory over Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College. Their under-16 squad also achieved success, defeating Queen Victoria School 3-2.

To reach the finals in the under-16 category, John Wesley first won their pool games, narrowly defeating QVS 4-3 and Marist Brothers High School 4-3, and later advancing to the quarter-finals with a convincing 4-0 win against Lami High School. In the semi-finals, they faced Suva Grammar School and won decisively with a score of 6-2, before beating Marist again in the semi-finals 3-1. They then secured their victory against QVS in the final with a score of 3-1.

In the under-18 category, John Wesley began strong by defeating QVS 3-1 but faced a setback against MGM, losing 5-4. However, they bounced back to win their final pool match against Suva Grammar School 6-3. In the semi-finals, they dominated QVS with a 7-2 victory, setting up a rematch against MGM in the final. This time, John Wesley claimed the title with a 5-3 win.
