The festive spirit of Christmas brought the community in Jittu Estate together for the much-anticipated Jittu Vuvale Fun Day, fostering joy and connection among residents, particularly children and young people.

The event took place at the recently unveiled multipurpose court at Lagilagi Housing, which opened in July and has since become an essential sporting hub for locals. Richard Dyer, the coordinator for Inspire Pacific, highlighted the day’s agenda filled with activities designed to engage attendees of all ages.

From a bouncy castle and children’s games to family competitions and a volleyball tournament with around 20 participating teams, mainly from Jittu Estate, the atmosphere during the event was filled with excitement. Dyer noted, “Today is all about fun day, it’s a Jittu Vuvale Community fun day, where we have teams competing across several age groups, including under-17 and U21 and above.”

The event’s primary goal was to create a sense of belonging and enjoyment for families and children. Dyer emphasized the importance of utilizing the new court for community events to enhance local engagement. This initiative aligns with Inspire Pacific’s mission to support youth in the area, addressing challenges such as homelessness and other social issues that some young men face in the neighborhood.

Dyer expressed appreciation for the support from local sponsors, community members, and the energetic youths who helped make the day not just fun, but also a memorable and uplifting experience for everyone involved. The success of the Jittu Vuvale Fun Day is a testament to the strong community spirit that thrives in Jittu Estate, showcasing the power of togetherness during the festive season.
