The 2024 Miss Hibiscus crown has been intricately designed by the royal jewelry designer for Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u of Tonga. Maria Yang, a skilled jewelry designer and contemporary artist, has handcrafted this luxurious vintage-inspired crown using Swarovski crystals and pearls. The crown is elegantly finished with a combination of alloy, silver, and gold plating.
Yang, a certified emerald appraiser affiliated with the Hong Kong Jewelry Institute, is also known for her research on colored gemstones and is a member of the China Collectors Association. In addition, she is the founder of two jewelry brands, ‘Star Wisdom’ and ‘Cheese de Mars.’ Since 2019, Yang has made her home in the stunning Pacific Island of Tonga, where she serves as the royal jewelry designer for Queen Nanasipau’u.
