Jeremiah Raibevu College marks historic milestone with inaugural Cadet Pass Out Parade

The Jeremiah Raibevu College community celebrated a historic milestone today as the school held its inaugural Cadet Pass Out Parade. The event showcased the students’ hard work, discipline, and teamwork as they completed the cadet program.

The parade was reviewed by Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Kasiano Vusonilawe, who praised the dedication of teachers, parents, and community leaders for backing the cadet program. He reminded attendees that the initiative is about more than drills and ceremonial routines; it’s about building character through obedience, discipline, and perseverance that contribute to future success.

In a proud moment for the school, special recognition was given to two standout cadets: Year 11 student Akuila Sadaro and Year 9 student Zephanaiah Daligalevu. Both students, despite living with disabilities, became the first Jeremiah Raibevu College cadets to complete the program and march alongside their peers, drawing loud cheers from the crowd and highlighting the school’s commitment to inclusive opportunity.

During his address, A/ACP Vusonilawe spoke to parents and guardians, emphasizing that a child’s success rests on a shared foundation of care and guidance. “A child’s journey is never solitary. Success is born through the sacred partnership between parents and teachers—one of guidance, encouragement, and shared purpose,” he said. The ceremony reinforced unity, discipline, and a collective responsibility in nurturing the next generation.

This inaugural parade at Jeremiah Raibevu College also aligns with a broader national emphasis on youth leadership and character development through cadet programs. Across Fiji, similar cadet events have drawn hundreds of students and support from national and local leaders, underscoring a widespread belief in the value of discipline, teamwork, and service. For instance, Nakauvadra High School’s recent cadet parade drew more than 250 participants, while Levuka Public School hosted a parade with over 400 cadets, both reflecting ongoing momentum in school-based cadet training and recognition of cadet achievements.

As the program continues to grow, the School community hopes the lessons of leadership, discipline, and shared responsibility learned on the parade grounds will translate into lasting positive habits and a commitment to service within the student body and the wider community.

Editorial notes and value additions for editors:
– Consider a reader-friendly sidebar on the cadet training timeline at Jeremiah Raibevu College, including key milestones from enrollment to parade day.
– Add a caption draft for accompanying photos, such as: “First-ever Jeremiah Raibevu College cadets march with pride” or “Akuila Sadaro and Zephanaiah Daligalevu lead the way for inclusive cadet achievement.”
– A brief photo gallery caption sequence could highlight the review by the A/ACP, the moment of recognition for Akuila and Zephanaiah, and the cadets marching in formation.

Summary: This milestone event at Jeremiah Raibevu College highlights inclusive youth leadership, courage, and community partnership, reinforcing a hopeful message about discipline, unity, and character development for Fiji’s next generation.
