A group of over 1,400 volunteers from Jehovah’s Witnesses gathered today at the Vodafone Arena in Suva to prepare the venue for their three-day “Declare the Good News” Special Convention starting tomorrow.
Volunteers traveled from as far away as the Western division, with some departing as early as 4 a.m. to participate in the clean-up efforts. Jone Roracola, the Cleaning Coordinator for Jehovah’s Witnesses, expressed the group’s commitment to cleanliness, stating, “As we know our God is a clean God and we’re happy to clean this arena so we can all enjoy associating with our delegates in this convention.” He emphasized that these volunteers are not compensated and have dedicated their time and resources to ensure the venue is ready.
The convention is expected to welcome over 800 international delegates to Fiji. In addition to religious activities, attendees will have opportunities to visit Yanuca Island and participate in river tubing. They also plan to attend an artisan show at the Pearl South Pacific resort.
The Special Convention will take place at the Vodafone Arena from August 16 to 18, and members of the public are invited to attend.
