Illustration of Hayne hints comeback after quashed conviction

Jarryd Hayne Sparks Speculation of Sports Comeback!

Former rugby league player Jarryd Hayne has ignited speculation about a possible return to professional sports, as he was recently spotted participating in a training session with renowned sprint coach Roger Fabri in Sydney.

Hayne, who last played in the NRL in 2018 for the Parramatta Eels, was featured in a video shared by Fabri, showcasing his sprinting on the field. Fabri has previously coached notable NRL athletes including James Tedesco and Josh Addo-Carr.

The coach’s social media post added to the buzz, stating, “You thought it was over!!! You don’t even know what Jarryd Hayne is going to do.”

This news follows Hayne’s release from prison on June 12, after the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal overturned his convictions. He had been serving time for over a year after being convicted in April 2023 of two counts of sexual intercourse without consent, based on an incident that occurred during the 2018 NRL grand final night in Newcastle.

After a lengthy legal struggle comprising three trials over six years, the former two-time Dally M winner has regained his freedom and is gradually reestablishing his life with his family, maintaining a low profile until this recent development.
