Japan’s Stunning Victory: Naikabula Shines in Pacific Nations Cup Opener!

Fiji-born winger Jone Naikabula made a significant impact in Japan’s 55-20 victory over Canada in the Pacific Nations Cup opener held in Vancouver on Monday, scoring one try. Naikabula showcased his speed, running an impressive 40 meters without being challenged to secure a remarkable try for the Cherry Blossoms. Additionally, he played a crucial role in setting up several other tries during the match.

Lock Warner Dearns delivered a standout performance, earning the Man of the Match title with a double. Other tries for Japan were scored by Tomoki Osada, Seungsin Lee, Dylan Riley, Kanji Shimokawa, and Malo Tuitama.

In Round 2 of the Pacific Nations Cup, Samoa, coming off a 42-16 loss to Fiji the previous week, will host Tonga at Apia Park on Saturday, while Canada will face the USA Eagles on Monday. The Fiji Water Flying Fijians are on a bye this round and are set to travel to Teufaiva Park in Nukualofa next week to compete against Tonga.
